Recording Policy

Audio and video recording at student events may be permitted with the consent of the organization, in accordance with its rules and guidelines. 

Reason(s) for the Policy:

  • The University seeks to comply with applicable laws by obtaining permission for the use of film recording equipment at events held on campus. 

Recognized student group events are intended for the group and their audience members and not for commercial purposes. Although with the organizer’s permission, attendees can use personal recording devices such as smartphones to film from their seats, invited speakers and their guests may not set up or use other equipment to film during these events.
