Closing Due to Lack of Climate Control
During extreme internal climate conditions, every effort will be made to continue essential services to the University and the community. However, when and where such conditions exist, an early closing of an office, laboratory, or other location may be authorized.
Vice Presidents, Deans, Human Resources Representatives and Departmental Administrators may authorize such an early closing subject to prior review with HR Client Services and Labor Relations. Before authorizing a closing, all reasonable alternatives must be considered.
An early closing should be authorized only for the specific locations affected by the extreme conditions. The Vice-President of Operations, Facilities Operations, Environmental Health and Radiation Safety and the Department of Public Safety must be notified prior to closing of a location.
